Amber Bailey, born in Traverse City, Michigan, began her training at Ballet Etc. Dance Institute under the direction of Thomas Morrell. To further her training, Amber studied at American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp during the summer. Amber participated in the Michigan Youth Arts Festival, where she performed with the Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre and in her own choreographic works, Unconditional (2013) and Vicissitude (2014).

Currently, Amber is in her second season with Fort Wayne Ballet. She has performed in works that include Light Rain, Pas de Déesses, The Nutcracker as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Darren McIntyre’s The Phantom of the Opera as “Christine” and Cinderella as the Spring and Fall Fairy. Amber recently traveled with Fort Wayne Ballet to China on a cultural exchange, where they performed in the city of Taizhou.

Amber graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Performance and a Bachelor of Art in Mathematics. While studying at OU, Amber was a member of Oklahoma Festival Ballet and Contemporary Dance Oklahoma and performed in works including Harlequinade, Swan Lake Act II, Pas de Quatre, Carmina Burana, Flower Festival, Raymonda, La Bayadère and Impromptu. She also had the opportunity to work with Trey McIntyre in his original work Opaque, Unfazed. In the summer of 2017 Amber traveled to Barcelona, Spain to train and perform under Roser Muñoz and Joan Boix at CDC. Centre de Dansa de Catalunya.

Amber thoroughly enjoys teaching and choreographing. Her choreography has been selected to be presented at Fort Wayne Ballet, Informal Groove (2019), and in University Theatre’s Young Choreographers Showcase, Entropy (2017) and Tautly Linked (2018). Amber has completed the first two phases of the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum and is certified in Levels Pre-Primary through Level 5.
